done the rounds playing in the English and Irish session and barn-dance
scenes since the early 1980s. Richard was introduced to bluegrass while
on a busking trip to — of all places — Spain.
He was distracted by a decade of dabbling in viols with those early music cats, but returned to bluegrass and old-time music because it's just so much darned FUN!
He now gets his hot-licks fiddlin' kicks with south-east England's rootsiest bluegrass band, Monroe's Revenge, all-round good-time alt-country and western swing fun with the Mounthoolies (their CD Down from Mounthooly is still available from all good Mounthoolies, if you can catch one while he's sober), and his old-timey addiction supplied and satisfied by the fabulous, gingham-clad (but only on a dowdy day) KittyHawks.”
